What is a guru? In the World 2.0 it is not uncommon for our spiritual teachers to employ public relations managers; to sell ideology along with shampoo; to have a fan page and TV shows; and, let’s not forget, fortunes on their bank accounts. Occasionally, you read about one who discriminates against minorities, or another who has intercourse with his followers – of course, merely for spiritual reasons. In the meantime, we, the disciples, tend to forget about Guru’s like Narayana who, especially in northern India, has sunken into oblivion.
